Untitled[edit]

George Lockhart was my great grandfather and I lived with him in Blackpool shortly before he passed away. He had his ringmaster uniform and top hat in his bedroom. He also told me about his arm getting damaged by one of the elephants but I remember him saying that the elephants tusk passed through his arm but this may have been to impress me!

Prior to World War II, his daughter, Nina Hipgrave (my grandmother) was touring Germany with a juggling troup. The troup performed in front of Hitler and he gave a cigar to Nina to give to George.
