Father and son[edit]

Mason (like his father of the same name) styled himself both by his full name and by George C. Champlin. I have chosen to create the entry under his full name to reduce confusion with other George C. Champlins. Anyone editing this page (or his father's) should bear in mind that there is persistent confusion even in otherwise reliable sources between this Mason and his father. For example, at least two publications in the late 1870s could theoretically be by either father or son and I have not yet been able to determine which with certainty. Both are currently ascribed to the father, with a footnote mentioning the issue. It probably requires an architectural historian to sort this out.Alafarge (talk) 20:32, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
