The picture does not show Geoffrey de Havilland 'Jr'. (The term 'Jr' is not used in Britain.) He never lived to be that old, and by the time he was flying they did not wear that antiquated gear. I think you are correct that the picture is his father. The picture is from https://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1946/1946%20-%200770.html. This copy of Flight is from 1946, and says that the photograph is of Geoffrey Raoul de Havilland and his father, from 20 years previous. In which case Geoffrey Raoul would have been 16.
