Work in progress[edit]

Please don't delete this page prior to attempting to make it better. There is a lot of interest in this subject and not a lot of content out there on gardening in Alaska. Please work with me to make it better. Thank you, ~ * ~ Blue Lunar Storm ~ * ~ (talk) 23:28, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It would do better to consider rewriting this as Agriculture in Alaska until such time as there's sufficient material for this more specific topic. There's plenty more to be said about the broader topic which lacks an article. RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 06:14, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@RadioKAOS: I have just stumbled upon this article, and I agree that it would be better as Agriculture in Alaska. The article here is clearly describing small-scale subsistence agriculture, rather than gardening which conjures up images of lawns and flowerbeds. If agriculture in Alaska is mostly garden-level then the article should say so. Unfortunately Blueelectricstorm has not been active for a year.
The State of Alaska seems to be interested in developing Alaskan agriculture and its efforts, such as the Alaska Grown scheme, certainly merit inclusion. It would be nice to find some statistics on how much land is cultivated, and how much cultivable land is available, production figures for various crops and livestock, how much produce is grown locally vs. imported, total value of the industry, and so on. Unfortunately, I don't know where to begin looking. AnotherNewAccount (talk) 20:55, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for not deleting this page. Per the comments above, I am fine with deletion of the page. I have copied and pasted the information into Agriculture in Alaska where it now resides. I will try to find pertinent references to cite in the article. ~ * ~ Blue Electric Storm ~ * ~ (talk) 23:53, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
