The subject of gangs and organized crime groups have become a common topic nowadays due to the uprise of hip-hop culture. These terms are often thrown around too often.

The fact is, that gangs and crime groups are serious issues which should not be subject to jokes and games. Gangsters are known for commiting crimes such as murder, rape and usage of highly illegal weapons.

Labling oneself a gangster is definately not a wise choice, as many youths in the United States and southern Canada have learned. Calling oneself a gang member can lead to consequences such as alienation from peers, assault from actual gang members and even death.

If you do not belong in a gang, do not pretend to. If you wear expensive tasteless clothing paid for by your parents, you are not a G. If you try to act like you came right out of the projects with no education, although you are from China and live in the suburbs, be quiet. You are not a G. The garbage spewing from your fat lips does not intimidate anyone, as everyone, even children can see right through the clothes and the immitation.
