Draft article and page move[edit]

Resolved

On behalf of African Parks via the Wyss Foundation, and as part of my work at Beutler Ink, I am submitting an expanded and updated draft of this article for community review. You can view my proposed draft here.

Souring in the current article is limited: 2 are published by conservation organizations, 1 is not accessible, and another requires users to access a URL to download a file. To strengthen this article, I've worked to create a draft with improved sourcing that provides an accurate, neutral, and well-rounded overview of the park, including its wildlife and history, similar to articles for other parks and protected areas. African Parks has provided feedback to ensure accuracy. I'm looking for a volunteer editor who is willing to review the draft and copy over content appropriately to the live article. I hope anyone reviewing will conclude that the proposed draft is an improvement over the existing article.

As well, I propose moving this page to Gambella National Park, which is the official name of the park, and to make the article more consistent with similar encyclopedia entries. Some sources do say "Gambela", but even the African Conservation Foundation and BirdLife International sources in the existing article use "Gambella". Searching "Gambela National Park" at Google yields 9,200 results; searching ""Gambella National Park" yields 9,770. I would argue "Gambella" is used more often by reliable sources, but will let other editors make the final decision.

@Chetsford: You were very helpful with the Bangweulu Wetlands, Liuwa Plain, and Zakouma articles, and I wanted to bring this one to your attention as well, if you're interested. As a reminder, this edit request is part of a series to create and expand several Wikipedia articles related to African Parks. You can learn more here: User:Inkian Jason/African Parks. Thank you.  Done There have been only two non-bot edits to the article in the preceding 18 months, both of which were minor edits. There is no active discussion on the Talk page. On the basis of these factors, and the fact that the proposed draft is superior to the original version, I have replaced it with the suggested copy. There is also a reasonable rationale for executing the page move, which has been done. I have also reclassified this from Start to C. Chetsford (talk) 07:12, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Chetsford: Thank you, once again, for your help. Unless you object, I will remove the entry for "Gambela" at Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon/Core stubs - Ethiopia. Would you mind updating the park's spelling at Template:National Parks of Ethiopia? That would take care of some of the articles still linking to "Gambela National Park". Thanks again!  Done NP - spelling updated and no objection here. Chetsford (talk) 15:29, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for confirming, and for updating the template. I remove the entry with this edit. Inkian Jason (talk) 16:14, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
