Galloway is famous for its meat. The discussion, which is the best meat produced in Scotland rages. The common opinion was always Aberdeen Angus, but the locals sing the praises of the belted Galloway which they claim is far superior. The belted Galloway is not the most common of cattle, and is usually found in the Dumfries and Galloway region. 81.106.2.29 20:44, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Encyclopaedia or guidebook?

Large sections of this article require re-writing in a more encyclopaedic style - much of it currently has the feel of a guidebook - something which Wikipedia is not intended to be. I may get around to doing some of this re-writing in time unless someone gets there before me. cheers Geopersona (talk) 13:33, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

I've made some changes to bring the article closer to the conventions of Wikipedia which is NOT a guidebook. There remains material in here which is unsourced and 'point of view' on the part of one of more editors, so there is still work to do. Some I've removed entirely, some I've tweaked from the 3rd person perspective to a more objective one. thanks Geopersona (talk) 08:40, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
