Correction of name spelling[edit]

This article was created with the spelling Gaius Furius Pacilus Fusus. I am correcting it by editing the body and by moving the page title. The magistrate has been recorded in two secondary sources with the spelling [C]aius Furius Paculus Fusus. AGK ■ 09:23, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please check your sources more carefully before making moves of this kind. Broughton gives his surname as Pacilus on pages 54 and 66. The Pontifex Maximus of 449 is also listed as Pacilus, as is the consul of 412, and the one of 251. The Capitoline Fasti only name the latter, where again it is Pacilus. Whether Paculus on page 60 is a typo or merely a variation, it makes no sense to assign him a different spelling from the rest of his family in Wikipedia. And please do not begin linking praenomina in every Roman biographical article for which the abbreviation doesn't match the full spelling—this would be an extreme example of overlinking, and you would need to do it for hundreds of articles.
