Panoramic Image and spelling[edit]

That is a really great image, but it's so big. I don't think it can really be resized to the usual size of wiki images (ie, to fit on one side, taking up less than half the page width) without losing a lot of detail. I moved it to just below the intro - how's that look? Any other ideas?

Also, does anyone know if "Frascati" is an alternate spelling, or just a common mispelling? The article "Frascati House" (which I turned into a redirect) said it was a mispelling, but I googled it and found a number of credible - looking pages that used that spelling.

House built in 1739?[edit]

There's no real doubt that the Hely-Hutchinson referred to was John Hely-Hutchinson (b 1724), but he would only have been 15 years old than, so maybe 1739 isn't right? Colonies Chris 22:24, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Assorted Edits[edit]

I moved the photograph of Frescati House from the middle of the page to the top of the page because it made the "Table of Contents" unusable due to the large size of the photo.

Name of Frescati[edit]

There is no doubt that the correct spelling is Frescati. Frescati was referred to in letters of Lady Emily FitzGerald and Lord Edward Fitzgerald as Frescati. Early correspondance between the developers whose company was called "Frescati Estates", and the different planning boards referred to it as Frescati, as did the court cases. The houses built in Frescati's land in the thirties were called Frescati Park (as spelled in the deeds), but the road sign now says Frascati Park.

As Frescati was divided into separate properties later in its existence, there were two different gateways to it on Rock Hill. One spelled "Frescati", one spelled "Frascati".

The shopping centre now on the site is called Frascati Shopping Centre.

The incorrect spelling of Frescati as "Frascati" is an old and enduring mistake, albeit a mistake all the same.
