Advertising?[edit]

Call me a cynic, but I'm inclined to believe the snippet in the Trivia section about the bicycles is nothing more than an advertisement added by the owners of that shop. As such I'm going to remove it. If you feel it has merit please discuss here. - Throw 09:54, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The plot summary is the worst thing I've ever seen written on wikipedia. I would revise it, but I haven't seen the movie. If anyone out there has seen Fred Claus, please revise the plot summary. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.86.218.148 (talk) 09:49, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated[edit]

This article needs to be updated. The movie's already out. --Gp75motorsports 14:45, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Budget[edit]

The budget needs to be removed. When Variety first announced this project, it was reported that Vaughn would receive $20 million. No way is that $30 million budget figure accurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.103.65.201 (talk) 23:51, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite[edit]

I rewrote this article after looking into quite a bit of vandalism lately. Since even the recent reverts had missed some parts, it was easier to start from scratch. All info should at this point be correct, but there will need to be review to make sure nothing important was left out. Chills42 (talk) 18:14, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The plot is way too long. It should not excede 900 words. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.84.110.189 (talk) 02:30, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2 Questions[edit]

Ok, 1) inarguably, the plot summary is too long. My only problem is, it's probably (hopefully) an enthusiastic kid who wrote it. Im hesitant to delete the whole thing because it clearly took a lot of work. I dont know much about how Wikipedia works. If you erase it, is it gone forever? As much as it is overlong, Im not thrilled to see that happen. 2) Can someone report on how it did in Box Office standings in the US the first weekend? It has the amount of money made, but not if it won the weekend or came close. Between listing the UK DVD release date and the UK opening weekend finish, this article has an innappropriate Brit tilt to it-SF

I second the criticism of the novel-length treatment in the plot summary section. I have seen the movie and would be more than happy to hazard a summary, but I don't want to step on any toes without going through the proper channels. Chalkieperfect (talk) 04:25, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Comment from the director[edit]

In an article that was mostly about Wedding Crashers the director David Dobkin expressed his disappointment saying: "Instead, I made Fred Claus [starring Vaughn], which was a PG-13 movie originally and turned into a PG film. That’s not my gig, man. We got caught in all kinds of poor decisions, and that movie didn’t come out the way I wanted it to." I guess maybe that could go in the Critical response section but I'm not sure. -- 109.76.149.139 (talk) 03:25, 1 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
