Could some get some more information non his stage career? The article cites his Tony awards and nominations but not the roles for which he was cited.

Engagement to Elizabeth Taylor[edit]

Influence on vampires[edit]

In the article, it states that "His flowing silk clothes and youthful appearance were a key point in the transformation of the vampire from the original novel's coarse and bestial monster as portrayed by Nosferatu to the sleek, sexy neck-biters seen in film and on television in shows like Buffy, the Vampire Slayer."

I find that to be a bit of an overstatement. Vampires were far from 'coarse and beastial' monsters long before Langella's stage appearance. See, for instance, Bela Lugosi's version. In fact, contrary to what the article states, the vampires in the original novel (Dracula) weren't coarse and beastial either. Dracula was of European aristocracy. His brides were sensual temptresses (much like the "sleek, sexy neck-biters" mentioned in the article), as was, for instance, Lucy. If nobody objects, I'm going to go ahead and delete/alter that line.

Removed it because Langella's performance isn't the reason vampires are nowadays portrayed as sleek and sexy, regardless how great it was.

DOB[edit]

He was two years old in the 1940 census.

Yes, I think it's worth noting an incurable eye movement in an actor. Langella's exceptionally powerful performances become even more admirable if he has this. Michael Caine said in his Master's Class acting video that an actor HAS to be capable of an absolutely unblinking stare. Langella did without one. New Picture Needed[edit]

An actor's career depends in large part on the way he looks. Pictures that accompany the article should reflect this. Langella was a notably handsome man of the dark and dashing type in his younger years. Although it's rather endearing that whoever wrote the article chose a photo of Langella in his paunchy, grizzled 70's, there should also be one from his flashing-eyed, raven-locked Dracula prime.
