Copyleft problems[edit]

I have deleted and recreated this article.

This is because Wikipedia Wikipedia:Text of Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License allows commercial distribution, but the current licence used by the British Civil War website is Attribution-Non-Commercial-Share Alike 3.0 Unported, which places a restriction "Non-Commercial — You may not use this work for commercial purposes." which the Wikipedia license does not.

Providing the requirements of the Terms of Use and WP:plagiarism are met there is no reason why information from the British Civil War website can not be summarised and and cited like any other copyright text. But it can not be copied under its copyleft licence into Wikipedia articles because its licence is more restrictive than the Wikipedia licence. -- PBS (talk) 20:52, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

East Bridgford[edit]

I have removed this paragraph

Hacker was born and spent his early life in East Bridgford in Nottinghamshire. He lived in the, now demolished, manor of the village down what has now been named Hacker's Close. The village church contains a memorial to him and his family.

Because, it is sourced and the following link East Bridgford St Peter: Monuments and Memorials does not support the last sentence and although "Colonel Francis Hacker, parliamentarian and regicide (3)" by H. L. Hubbard, B.A., Transactions of the Thoroton Society, 45, 1941, supports some of it, it does not support the "down what has now been named Hacker's Close.", further this unreliable sources ("Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire: East Bridgford") says "East Bridgford, between Nottingham and Newark, ... villagers must have witnessed close at hand the conflict of the Civil Wars. The local family of Hackers whose home, the Old Manor is still occupied, were deeply involved on both sides. Indeed Francis Hacker, ..." So a source is needed for the paragraph (WP:PROVIT)-- PBS (talk) 23:12, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
