Tonight I heard a DJ on my radio (station: KEDJ Phoenix 103.9) announced their song with the exact words "a side project of Green Day", so I'd say that should be proof enough at this point, rather than saying "secret side project". Bubacxo 09:21, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Personally, I hear a distinct similarity to Tom Petty in the singing voice for "Mother Mary"... I think it should be added on influences (or comparisons). Also, I haven't heard that particular comparison about any other songs by either Green Day or The Network. So I'm not so sure it's them... It's funny how things work. Just because it might be Green Day, people think it's good and it gets a lot of attention. But if it wasn't, people wouldn't give a rats ass because frankly, the songs are mediocre at best, even for Green Day. Just pathetic how peoples minds work. Some are leaders, but most are just followers.

   I agree, the songs aren't amazing, but they are kind of fun, and I saw them live and it was cute. I think they were just to relieve some of the tension before following up AI. But you're right. Lots of words that aren't really words are in band names, so that point is irrelevant. And whether or not there's a source of someone mistakenly reporting the band name as two words rather than three is also irrelevant. WP:Redirect#reasons lists "Misspellings" as one of the "good" reasons for a redirect, listing "Condoleeza Rice redirects to Condoleezza Rice" as an example. On the cover of the FHT album, it really looks like "hottubs" is all one word, so it is completely reasonable to think that if someone is searching the band name based on the album cover, they may type "Foxboro Hottubs". More to the point, by Wikipedia's standards there's no solid reason to not have this redirect, since it is doing exactly what redirects are supposed to do. Why do people keep saying Foxboro Hot Tubs sound like Tom Petty?[edit]

Some people are saying that Foxboro Hot Tubs sounds like Tom Petty, and they (Foxboro Hot Tubs) are starting to be compared to him (Tom Petty). Why are they comparing them to each other and saying they sound alike? Billie Joe Armstrong sounds like Billie Joe Armatrong, not Tom Petty, and Tom Petty sounds like Tom Petty, not Billie Joe Armstrong.

Supporting Green Day and "It's *** Time" (2008-present)[edit]

No, Green Day played at Wembley Arena before that Foxboro show in Nov 2009 (they had played at the O2 Arena in October 2009). They played Wembley Stadium in June 2010. I know this since I was at all those shows but it wouldn't have been difficult to google that info :P

This article used to be really good but it seems to have been ruined, "On 31st October, 2010 during the 21st Century Breakdown World Tour as Green Day, the band performed a brief set as Foxboro Hot Tubs before the support band as a Halloween surprise at the Manchester MEN Arena." is wrong, it was on 31st October 2009. And then Green Day played Wembley Arena the next night on Nov 1st 2009 and played the Foxboro show in Islington straight afterwards in the early hours of the morning. I see the bits about them playing two shows in New York in 2010 and playing the new song 'It's Fuck Time' have been removed too.
