How is this possible?[edit]

With convection stopped, thus no current flowing, how is a magnetic field possible in a star? Aarghdvaark (talk) 13:37, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Good question. I think it may require an electrically conductive plasma, so it probably gets locked in at the non-convective surface of a normal star where ionization is minimal. (E.g. Ap star.) Beyond that I haven't been able to find much. They may still be trying to figure it out. Praemonitus (talk) 15:06, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
