Asian or European?

At what point did Israel move from the AFC to UEFA? This seems like a significant thing. If you look at the article on the AFC Champions League, you'll note that in the 60s and 70s, at least, Israeli teams were competing in this competition (and often playing Arab teams). When and why did this change? This would seem like a significant fact to discuss in this article. john k 19:48, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

There wasn't a move from the AFC to UEFA. Israel was ousted from the AFC in 1974 and was unaffiliated until it was accepted to UEFA in 1992. Eran R --Eranrabl (talk) 04:44, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Famous players

The list of "famous players" is really silly in an article about football in Israel. It also creates edit wars by those who love certain players and would like to see them on the list etc. No other article about football in a respectable country seems to include this, it looks like it was either translated from the Hebrew wiki or was an idea of someone who wants Israeli football to "look good" thus I propose deleting it. -NYC2TLV 18:20, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

You "propose" and yet do as you wish without asking anybody, and with your personal attack that people want to see certain players. The list was here more than a year; there is no reason to take it off. Even a Hebrew administrator moved it back and you don't give a dam of anyone's opinion besides your self. Kinda selfish if you ask me. There are more then 10 people (soon there will be more) here watching every move you make in wikipedia, and are very unhappy with you and your behavior. The list isn't ugly, you behavior in the other hand-is. Oh and by the way, thanks for giving me a retarded level of English. You are a native speaker like I am Irish. Correcting translation and transliteration of "football"

The Hebrew word for "football" derives from joining the words "kadur" (כדור) and "regel" (רגל) ("ball" and "foot"), but because the last letter of the former is identical to the first letter of the latter, the new word is written and pronounced as "kaduregel" (כדורגל) and not as "kadur-regel" (כדור-רגל). --Mebop (talk) 21:28, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
