'post-Roman times'[edit]

"The first same-sex marriage in Spain in the post-Roman times": does this mean that same-sex marriage took place in Roman Spain? Same-sex marriage, or anything like it, was highly unusual in ancient Rome, and typically we know little about same-sex relations between women (compared to male-male relations). Really the first?[edit]

In the Middle Ages, a same-sex marriage between the two men Pedro Díaz and Muño Vandilaz in the Galician municipality of Rairiz de Veiga in Spain occurred on 16 April 1061. They were married by a priest at a small chapel. The historic documents about the church wedding were found at Monastery of San Salvador de Celanova.^[1] Contaldo80 (talk) 12:12, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Marriage of Pedro Díaz and Muño Vandilaz[edit]

My Spanish is poor so I took the article that was referenced by the statement that the priest might have been unaware of their genders and ran it through Google Translate. I could not find the statement that the priest might have been unaware of their genders anywhere in the translation.
