California First Amendment CoalitionFirst Amendment Coalition — The California First Amendment Coalition changed its name to First Amendment Coalition in 2009. DebEditor (talk) 21:40, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's a reason for investigating a move, certainly, but I'm afraid it's no reason for proposing one. The question is: What do people call it now? See Wikipedia:official names for an explanation of the official Wikipedia policy on this. Then see whether there's a case to be made for a move in terms of the policy. That's a technicality. I disagree, in that it is a reason for proposing a move. In fact, I wouldn't have even bothered opening a discussion about such a move. A quick and dirty hypothetical proof of this is that if the proposer had moved it, your reason given above would not be reason enough to revert it, IMHO. First Amendment Coalition is the official name of the organization and according to Wikipedia:official names "Where an undisputed official name exists:
   * It should always be given early in the article introduction. It should be bolded at its first mention and, where appropriate, italicised. See Wikipedia:Lead section.
   * If the official name differs from the article name, then there should be a redirect from the official name to the article."

The text in the body of the article has already been edited to reflect the new official name. I'm not sure I fully understand the question regarding "what people call it now." People may still know it as California First Amendment Coalition, which is why it requires a redirect so that people who still search for it (FAC) by its former name (CFAC) will be forwarded to the page titled First Amendment Coalition. --DebEditor (talk) 22:18, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article should be titled by the most common and easily identified name for the topic. If an organization changes its official name, but users are more likely to be looking for it under the old name, the article should remain at the old name. That's what was being referred to with "what people call it now." Propaniac (talk) 19:01, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
