Why is a Brazilian character classified as Hispanic?

Anyone have "proof" for her classification under "LGBT comic book characters"?

She's at least bisexual. After Ice died she had a conversation with Sigrid Nansen where she said she felt more jealous when Tora was dating Guy than she ever had for a man.

  • Um, how does that prove she's bisexual?
  • In I can't believe it is not the Justice League Fire seems to overreact when Guy holds tightly the catatonical "infernal ghost" of Tora, but it can be only the sign of a strong friendship, being Guy a known womanizer.

At least, from the last pages of I can't believe it is not the Justice League, and the OMAC Project pages she had shown a tender spot for Booster Gold, and, excepting for the somewhat ambigous relaction with Tora, no other signs of a lesbian or homosexual inclination. So I think we actually don't have real proof to classificate as a lesbian comic book character... even if her relationship with Tora was a lesbian one, and not a strong friendship bond, it was an unicum in her life. Just my two cents, but this probably stems from the fact that Ice, her best friend, was bi-sexual, leading to this whole hoopla. I can't glean anything that says she shares anything more than a strong friendship with Ice. Actually, IIRC, her best friend Ice wasn't bisexual. But I can see where you're confused. Icemaiden I, aka Sigrid Nansen is either bisexual or lesbian. Icemaiden II, aka Ice, aka Tora Olafsdotter is Bea's best friend and is not the same person. - 66.93.144.171 05:07, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In episode #27 (I Am Legion) of Justice League Unlimited, there's a play on that possibility. When Flash is looking at Fire, Shayera says something like "it would be a waste of time talking to her.. I heard she's ...". At that moment, the camera shows her talking to Ice, telling her to let her hair grow, so she would look better. Before anything can be (too) implied, Shayera completes the sentence with "brazilian". Still, I don't think we have any proof, but it looks like the possibility is real. Pre-Crisis[edit]

I have a very vague recollection that pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths she was running the Brazillian branch of Wayne Industries when she got her powers. Can anyone confirm this? Daibhid C 18:37, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sort of. I have an old Superman issue where this is confirmed but it's packed away at the moment.

Ibid and Such[edit]

The word 'Ibid' appears multiple times in the article. I don't get it.

Also, Fire is not bisexual, it was just that a woman was attracted to -her- for a while.

Superbuddies vs. JLA[edit]

Canonically, the Superbuddies are NOT a part, or adjunct, of the Justice League. While the second Superbuddies story (I Can't Believe It's Not The Justice League!) was originally published in JLA Classified, the original Superbuddies story (Formerly Known As The Justice League) was published as a miniseries in its own title, not a JLA title. Beyond that, there's this quote from the lead of Super Buddies:

The Super Buddies are a team of comic book superheroes in the DC Comics universe who appeared in the six-issue Formerly Known as the Justice League miniseries in 2003, and its 2005 sequel, I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League (published in JLA Classified). The team was put together by former Justice League bank roller Maxwell Lord as a superhero team "accessible to the common man". Named after the Hanna-Barbera Saturday morning cartoon Super Friends, the team is considered more or less inept and incapable of being of any help by many (including the actual Justice League).

This pretty much implies that the Superbuddies are NOT part of the League, for obvious reasons. Can we please stop removing the Superbuddies affiliation from the superherobox? Rdfox 76 03:49, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am going to remove this unless there is an objection. This does not seem like a power nor an ability.

Name[edit]

A quick comparison of the names:
  • Green Flame - 9 appearances outside the reference books
  • Green Fury - 4 appearances
  • Fire - more appearances than I care to count
While not a 100% definitive final count it is enough to show she has overwhelmingly appeared as "Fire" so it should stay named as it is for the time being. (Emperor (talk) 01:48, 26 June 2008 (UTC))[reply]

If deemed necessary, this issue can easily be address in the article's lead by interpolating "debuted as Green Flame in Super Friends #25". Otherwise, it's quite clear that Fire is her most-known and longest-used name, so there's no reason to do anything other than mention her initial names. Two-Face doesn't mention Harvey Kent until the paragraph below the lead, despite it being his first-used name and (for example) Michael Fleisher's Encyclopedia of Comic Book Heroes using that logic to say he WAS "Kent", and that "Dent" was a later mistake...! "Fire and Ice" are "Fire and Ice (previously known as...)" - anything else is confusing and awkward. ntnon (talk) 15:57, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
