Roosevelt Avenue being renamed to Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ) Avenue[edit]

The Philippine Senate has approved a bill to rename this road to Fernando Poe Jr. Avenue: http://legacy.senate.gov.ph/press_release/2021/0913_prib1.asp https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1487157/senate-oks-bill-renaming-roosevelt-avenue-in-qc-after-fpj

The effort was originally aimed at nearby Del Monte Avenue, the site of FPJ Studios, but it was opposed by the Franciscans as it was also the site of the oldest Catholic church in Quezon City, as part of the area's historical Christian heritage: https://lifestyle.inquirer.net/372912/why-franciscans-oppose-plan-to-rename-del-monte-qc-to-fpj-avenue/#ixzz6bbhJGCuV

Senate President Vicente Sotto III suggested renaming Roosevelt Avenue instead, as it is the site of Poe's ancestral home, and is a larger thoroughfare: https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1351457/sotto-wants-qcs-roosevelt-ave-not-del-monte-ave-renamed-after-fpj
