What does "Greifer" mean?

From the "Fugitives" section of this article:

...the Gestapo used search service and the help of Jewish "Greifer" collaborators.

It doesn't seem to be explained anywhere, and there's no Greifer article. Loganberry (Talk) 01:20, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
