Renaming[edit]

The renaming of this article from FF USV Jena to FC Carl Zeiss Jena (women) is absolutely incorrect. The club hasn't change his name, the players are moved to a different, other club, which exist for a very long time. The women's department of Carl Zeiss has also existed for a few years. And the FF USV Jena still exists as a different club, but without any player. Stepro (talk) 19:16, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have source? Source here indicates that FF USV Jena is merged into FC Carl Zeiss Jena as its women's football department and FCC's existing women's football team will become the reserves. Seany91 (talk) 19:24, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That's the point: The FCC's women's football team has been already existing. It's a different thing. It's like the former GDR has merged with FRG. Nobody would have the idea to merge both articles, of course GDR still exists. So it should be with the FF USV Jena - it's a different thing to FCC women, and needs an own article of course. And the entity "FF USV Jena e. V." still exists, still having a board, a president, a bank account etc. --Stepro (talk) 17:23, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Your exaggerated analogy notwithstanding, does the new FCC women inherit USV's club license or not? If yes, then plenty of precedence out there for a page move. "FF USV Jena still exists as a different club, but without any player" –> source? "the entity "FF USV Jena e. V." still exists, still having a board, a president, a bank account etc." –> source? The source is the register of associations (Vereinsregister des Amtsgerichts Jena Nummer VR 1089). --Stepro (talk) 00:04, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
"Prior to 2020, the club was known as Frauenfußball Universitätssportverein Jena (or FF USV Jena)." Sentences like that one are the problem. No, prior to 2020 the women of Carl Zeiss played in the fouth tier for three years. FF USV Jena was another club. I don't know... maybe moving the articles ar eok even, but the text then definativly needs some work. -Koppapa (talk) 07:43, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe like the example here as an improvement? Feel free to WP:FIXIT. The FCC women's section pre-merger would not satisfy notability criteria, so having a separate article IMO would not work well in this case. Seany91 (talk) 06:47, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted the move, the title of the article(s) should be discussed first using a WP:RM. S.A. Julio (talk) 18:54, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've laid out my rationale pretty clearly above. Discuss away then. Seany91 (talk) 06:40, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Further evidence from the DFB clearly implies that the existing club licenses will continue. USV Jena becomes the new Carl Zeiss women and continues competing with its existing license. Seany91 (talk) 12:41, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I guess this can be moved over to Carl Zeiss. Text works out now. -Koppapa (talk) 15:42, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
