Party ideology[edit]

It should be also so classified as liberal conservative party, as some of its social positions (gay marriage, ethnic minorities) are not that liberal. I don't have any source for classification other then my own observations of their political behavior, but unless someone objects, I think we should add "liberal conservative" to their ideology.

other topics[edit]

Many characteristic theses of Reform Party ideology can be found in Siim Kallas's Eesti pass tulevikku (Estonia's passport into future, Estonian text here), an electoral manifesto from 2003. A thought I find especially noteworthy, nay, astonishing, is e.g.

Selle teema innukad eesträäkijad on ilmselged tulevased vasakpoolsed poliitikuhakatised, keda õppetöö kui niisugune õieti ei huvitagi.

Approximate translation:

The zealous pioneers of this topic [i.e. student scholarship] are obvious leftist would-be politicians, who are in fact not interested in studying itself.

We probably probably can't use those ideas in the article, but one can easily conclude, what Estonia's future developments look like in the eyes of Rein Lang's party. E.J. 15:16, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not very knowledgeable on Estonian politics but is that the mainstream view in Estonia? Because if so, they must sit very uneasily in the European LDRP grouping unless "leftist" refers to Communists rather than social democrats/socialists in Western Europe. That sentence sounds like something taken very out of context; but I don't know, haven't read it myself - they seem to have taken it down from their site & I couldn't find it elsewhere on the internet, but seems interesting, have you got any other links to it? --V Villu (talk) 19:05, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Suspicious link Reform Party (Estonia, 1994)[edit]
