Field Turf?[edit]

The turf at this stadium looks much worse than the Field Turf at Gilette stadium. Are you sure that the surface is Field Turf and not some other form of artificial surface. (70.19.182.100 (talk) 03:00, 4 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I came here thinking the EXACT same thing. I play regularly on FieldTurf and have attended a match at Saprissa, as well as having watched on TV several matches hosted there, and cannot fathom that they are the same material. The ball seems always to be bouncing irregularly and much higher at Saprissa. HOWEVER, this article [1] from the vendor states that Saprissa is indeed FieldTurf. The differences may be due to the base underneath the turf, or perhaps the amount of infill used. 24.62.2.251 (talk) 20:14, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Update: two different models of product under the FieldTurf brand. Saprissa uses FieldTurf FTOS 1(which is only FIFA 1-star rated) whereas Gillette Stadium uses FieldTurf Duraspine (which is FIFA 2-star rated). The latter installation is also four years newer than the former.[2] 24.62.2.251 (talk) 20:31, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
