Notability of the article[edit]

The club competes in Brazilian top flight futsal league, and I already added this info to the article. This is sufficient to make the article notable. --Carioca (talk) 00:26, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The speedy deletion of the article was requested by CyberGhostface because the article supposedly does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject (CSD A7), but the notability is established in the lead section, where it says that the club competed in 2007 in the Liga Futsal, and in 2008 is also competing in this league. Liga Futsal is the highest level of futsal in Brazil, so competing in this league is enough to make the club notable. Search for Teresópolis/DalPonte, and you will find much more links. Anyway, as the club competes in the most important league of the sport (the Liga Futsal, which is the league where Esporte Clube Teresópolis is competing, is Brazilian's top level futsal league) in his country (Brazil), and Brazil is one of the most successful countries in futsal, this makes the club notable even though there are not a lot of Google hits. You can check (for example here, here, here and here) that the club has been subject of coverage in several different reliable and independent secondary sources, which asserts the club's notability. --Carioca (talk) 02:28, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
