Moved from East Germany to West Germany during the Soviet occupation?![edit]

1952 was in the midst of the Korean War, and was also the year when the East German puppet government announced it would commence rearming. Tensions were so high between East and West that there were occasional fatal border clashes. Now Erfurt was in the Soviet occupation zone; Dachau was in West Germany. How is that an arms factory was relocated from the Soviet Zone to West Germany in 1952?! -- 202.63.39.58 (talk) 06:01, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

2003/2004 take over of Merkel J+S by H&K[edit]

Thuringian company 'Suhler Jagd- und Sportwaffen GmbH' aka. 'Merkel J+S' had been taken over by Heckler & Koch in 2003 to 2004. Also worth mentioning at Heckler & Koch article, if necessary.

This german wiki e.g. mentions it and gives a news source: http://deutsches-jagd-lexikon.de/index.php?title=Merkel_Jagd-_und_Sportwaffen At bottem of page it reads: 'Nachrichten. HKJS aus Oberndorf übernimmt Merkel in Suhl. Zwei Jagdwaffenhersteller unter einem Dach. In: Deutsches Waffen Journal, 10/2003, S. 12' Translation: 'News. HKJS of Oberndorf takes over Merkel in Suhl. Two Hunting Weapon Manufacturers under one Roof. In: Deutsches Waffen Journal, 10/2003, p. 12' Found the news/article here at DWJ website, if ao. has the means: http://dwj.dwj-verlag.de/magazin/artikelrecherche/heft/10/jahr/2003.html

Don't know if this is useable as a source, as the DWJ news sadly is not open access. 88.151.72.43 (talk) 15:52, 12 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
