Thompson river/Thomson River[edit]

Mueller quotes the location of the type specimen as "Thompson River (A.C.Gregory)" but there does not seem to be a Thompson River in South Australia. However, Mueller also refers to "enumeration of Gregory's plants from Cooper's River. Lake Gregory, Pernatty Creek, Arcoona (Babbage's Expedition). Sturt's Creek, Newcastle Range, mountains on the Sutter-Burdekin and Mackenzie Rivers, (Ferd Mueller)." At least some of these features are in the north-east of South Australia. The Thomson River(Queensland) flows into Cooper Creek which in turn flows into Lake Eyre - originally called Lake Gregory. Gderrin (talk) 23:19, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
