More Diverse Sources on Themes[edit]

I have access to only so many sources that discuss the themes of Erec and Enide in an unbiased manner (and, thus, should be cited). I've found that the "Introduction" section of a translation of the poem is useful, but I was wondering if anyone has any other sources or places to look for sources. Subheadings in Themes/Motifs[edit]

I put lots of subheadings under the "Themes/Motifs" section, and most of the subjects turned out not to be as long as I thought they would. Thoughts on whether or not they should be kept? AbbyShant (talk) 06:33, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Plot[edit]

The first and second part of the plot recounts the story quite well and quite concisely, but the third half lacks the last parts of the story. The part where Eric dies and Enid is basically taken by the Count is not mentioned, nor the part where Eric comes back to life and they end up living happily ever after. I read that this part was mentioned in the Themes portion under, Christianity, but I think it makes more sequential sense to be at the end of the plot too. Themes/Motifs[edit]

I think that the theme of gender should also be added. The story very heavily concerns this theme as Enid is praised for her beauty and not much else. She also is restricted to speech, and or is silenced, as was and still is considered a feminine of the time. Eric was also chastised for not being masculine enough as he was initially the strongest knight there was but became less manly as he cared more for his wife. Character List[edit]

A character list could be helpful to the page. Aizhaq (talk) 11:41pm, 03 September 2015 (UTC)

Cite Sources[edit]

I found an article that is word for word this wikipage. Sources should be cited for this article, or vice versa. http://self.gutenberg.org/article/whebn0002711298/erec%20and%20enide Aizhaq (talk) 11:41pm, 03 September 2015 (UTC)

Plot[edit]

The plot section of this entry could use a little more work. As of now it is unfinished but I think a good synopsis could be constructed in about 500 words. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seankhoury (talkcontribs) 18:21, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
