What the major issues are is a little subjective. I am currently working on an Environmental issues in New Zealand article that will hopefully answer that question. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 21:32, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Early environmental history[edit]

The history of New Zealand from an ecological perspective by Geoff Park ^[1] describes early attempts to preserve stands of lowland native forest. I haven't got the book at hand but these efforts started in the late 1800s. RobbieIanMorrison (talk) 10:54, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
