History and a "seal of approval"[edit]

This article was part of Brevard County prior to being forked on August 10, 2007. It spent several hours in limbo when a bot noticed that a dot com site had the same info. The bot thought I had copied that site. I convinced the admins that the site had copied this info and it was restored after a few hours. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. At least one reader thought the info worthwhile enough to copy it! 12:55, 11 August 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Student7 (talkcontribs)

Renaming[edit]

I named the article originally just to separate it from the main article. I no longer like the title. It is not "classic." There is probably no other article named like it. There should be because everyone has some issues. Maybe "Ecology of Brevard County"? Anyway, something a bit more classic. Student7 (talk) 14:06, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am happy with the current name. It fits the naming of similar articles in the series. I don't like "Ecology of Brevard County" as a name. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 06:19, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I just went through a lot more effort and discussion than I wanted because the title (which I selected! It seemed like a good idea at the time) is not generic and will never wind up in a navigational template from the other 66 Florida counties which would, for all time, prevent an auto-tag labeler from tagging it. Confining it to this narrow material and self-accusing title is not helpful IMO.
The old "Name in haste, repent at leisure" I guess. Student7 (talk) 12:46, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphan[edit]

As explained earlier, the material was forked out of Brevard County due to size. Presumably everyone interested in the county article would be interested in this sub-article as well, so being linked from Brevard County should be enough IMO. Why does forking in the normal course of Wikipedia editing automatically merit an "orphan" label? Student7 (talk) 13:48, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
