• Oppose: as everyone else has already stated, the team has included Welsh players, plays international matches in Wales, and is run by the England and Wales Cricket Board. • Oppose - in addition to what has been said above, "England cricket team" seems perfectly clear to me. And if the change was made, for consistency you'd want to make the same change for all the other Test sides, which would clearly not be possible for the West Indies. • Support - We have England national football team, England national rugby union team and all the rest, so what's so different about the cricket team? The team may also represent Wales, but that's because Wales was constitutionally part of England until the 1950s and the sport isn't as embedded in Wales. We even have Wales national cricket team, as well as Scotland national cricket team. With these things in mind, I would also support moving Ireland cricket team to Ireland national cricket team in line with the rest of the cricket national team articles and even Ireland national rugby union team. – PeeJay 09:10, 28 March 2019 (UTC)

• Support: What’s so different about the England cricket team when the word national is used for the Ireland national rugby union team? I think it’s just suptid how people can think that because the England cricket team also represents Wales it’s deemed inappropriate to add the word “National” when the Ireland national rugby union team represents both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland and yet it deemed appropriate to use the term “National team” and yet it’s not appropriate to use the same term for the England cricket team what possibly can the issues be in that that it’s total hypocrisy by those who oppose it and a bit of common sense is desperately needed. Status of Wales

With the rewording of the start of this section, has the England team historically represented all of UK, as changed to, or just Great Britain (so excluding NI)? Spike 'em (talk) 09:32, 11 November 2019 (UTC)

In the past(before Ireland and Scotland were became ICC Members), England team represented all of UK. An ideal student (talk) 13:09, 29 June 2022 (UTC)

ODI squad coaches

The coaching team for the forthcoming (July 2020) ODIs are a temporary unit whilst the Test and ODI squads are split due to CV. They are not replacing those already in the main coaching positions. Spike 'em (talk) 13:05, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

Why is it not called the England and Wales cricket team?

Ben Stokes England Test Vice-Captain

Ben Stokes, upon his return to cricket, participated in The 2021-22 Ashes alongside fellow teammates Joe Root, Jos Buttler, James Anderson and more... The shocking surprise of the Ashes was that, after Root was sent off the field due to an injury, Stokes made the decisions for the team and deputised in Root's absence. Hi, I just thought it would be more convenient to separate the 'Batters' (in the 'Current squad' section by Top order batsmen (i.e No. 1-4), and Middle Order batsmen. Thanks AnonymousCricketFan057 (talk) 11:18, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

How do you define top-order and middle-order? Some batters might bat at the top of the order in limited-overs cricket and in the middle order in Tests. I don't think this is really needed. – PeeJay 12:26, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

change title to England Men's Cricket Team

there are two England Cricket Teams, the men's and the women's, yet this is the men's page and the women's page specifies that it is the England Women's Cricket Team. this page should specify that it is England Men's Cricket Team in the title, not just in the redirect note. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.202.234.250 (talk) 18:14, 3 April 2022 (UTC)

If that change is going to be made, it should be made to all national team articles. Right now, the assumption is that the national team is the men's team. Until a big change happens in society, I don't see any reason to change things. – PeeJay 08:32, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
