Emma Summers was a significant person. As she is relevant to the history of oil production and the history of women in business, I initiated a separate entry for her. Formerly this was simply a redirect.

Summers is also discussed in the Los Angeles Oil Field article, and at some point, that material and the material in this new article should be edited to assure consistency. As Summers is a significant person in her own right, some details about her life are noteworthy but not appropriate for inclusion in a general article about the Los Angeles oil field. Therefore, I think the separate entry is essential. My suspicion is that there is more material of note about her in the academic literature and news archives, so I hope that others will expand this article significantly.
