Edit request for Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation[edit]

Editors, please see the following requested edits for the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation page. These are all factual and cited edits and can hopefully be made. As I have an existing relationship with ENEC, I do not want to make them personally so to not violate the terms.

For the third paragraph, please delete the second and third sentences (as the 2017 date may no longer be accurate) and add a sentence similar to this: The construction of Units 1 through 4 were 74 percent complete as of December 2016. All four units are scheduled for completion by 2020. Reference: https://www.zawya.com/mena/en/story/UAEs_first_nuclear_reactor_nearing_completion_official-ZAWYA20170214114449/

For the seventh paragraph, please delete the first sentence as the 2015 date has passed and the 2017 date is no longer accurate based on ENEC's existing timetable.

At the end of the "Site Selection" section, please add a paragraph such as this: In December 2016, FANR issued two licenses related to fuel for the Barakah plant. It issued to ENEC a license to transport unirradiated fuel to Barakah, and to Nawah a license to handle and store the fuel at Barakah. Reference: https://www.sharjah24.ae/en/uae/190794-fanr-issues-licenses-for-transport-and-storage-of-fresh-nuclear-fuel-at-barakah

In the "Fuel Procurement" section, in the second to last paragraph, please delete the reference to operations starting in 2017, as for the current timetable that is not accurate.

Create a new section between "Fuel Procurement" and "Human Capacity Development" called "Nawah Energy Company & Barakah One" For this section, here is applicable original txt: In May 2016, ENEC established the Nawah Energy Company as the operator of all four units at the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant. The creation of Nawah, which is majority owned by ENEC, allows for the corporation to focus on strategic issues related to the UAE’s broader nuclear program. Additionally, in October 2016, ENEC and KEPCO entered a joint venture agreement that creates a long-term partnership between the entities for the completion and commissioning of the Barakah plant and the securing of $24.4 billion in financing. Edit request for Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation[edit]

A recent review of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation page indicates some needed updates. I have ties to the company and do not want to add them myself, but have the following recommendations. Thanks, Fhclement (talk) 19:30, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  1. For third paragraph of intro section, add the following as second sentence: "As of February 2016, Unit 1 was more than 84 percent complete, Unit 2 was 64 percent complete and the overall construction of Units 1 to 4 was more than 58 percent complete.[1]"
  2. Update current seventh paragraph of intro section to indicate successful application submission for Operating License[2]
  3. Add new seventh paragraph to intro section: "Additional project milestones include the installation of two steam generators in Unit 2 in September 2015[3] and successful completion of Cold Hydrostatic Testing at Unit 1 in February 2016.[4] Also in February 2016, ENEC energized the switchyard for Units 1 and 2 and signed a Connection and Interface Agreement (C&IA) with TRANSCO, Abu Dhabi’s power transmission company, which allows electricity generated by the plant to be transmitted over TRANSCO’s power lines to the UAE grid.[5]"
  4. Add second paragraph to UAE policy on nuclear energy section: "The UAE’s nuclear policy and program is backed by high public support, according to a December, 2012, survey by market research company Taylor Nelson Sofres. The survey found that 82 percent of respondents were in favor of nuclear power and 89 percent supported a plant being built in their emirate.[6]"
  5. Add fourth paragraph to Nuclear regulation in the UAE section: "In January 2011, an IAEA integrated nuclear infrastructure review (INIR) mission to the UAE reported that the UAE had implemented several good practices including, "cooperation, without compromising their independence, between the regulatory bodies and utility, human resource development, a well-structured management system, and a strong safety culture."[7]"
  6. Update second paragraph of APR-1400 deployment section: "In January 2016, KEPCO connected to the grid the world's first APR-1400 reactor at Unit 3 of the Kori Nuclear Power Plant in South Korea. Unit 3 is expected to enter commercial operation in May 2016. Another APR-1400 reactor is under construction at the same site. These two reactors serve as the reference models for the four plants underway in the UAE.[8]"
  7. Update second paragraph of Fuel procurement section: "Starting in 2014-2015, a total of six companies in the nuclear fuel supply industry participated in the ENEC fuel supply program[9]:"
  8. Add fourth paragraph to Human capacity development section: "In September 2014, ENEC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Abu Dhabi Polytechnic on a joint vocational training program to develop a skilled Emirati workforce for the UAE’s burgeoning nuclear energy industry.[10]"
  9. Update final paragraph of Human capacity development section: "ENEC currently employs more than 1,600 staff and has awarded more than 400 scholarships through the Energy Pioneers scholarships program.[11]"
  10. Update third paragraph of Industrial development section: "As of August 2015, more than 1,100 UAE companies have contributed to the ENEC program thus far, having successfully secured contracts totaling more than US$2.5 billion for a range of products and services to support the construction of the UAE's first nuclear energy plants.[12]"
  11. Add fifth paragraph to Special delegations to Barakah section: "In February 2016, ENEC again hosted IAEA director general Yukiya Amano at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant site. During the visit, the Director General observed the significant progress made at Barakah, which at the time was the world’s leading nuclear energy construction site with four identical reactors being built simultaneously.[13]"
Hi there. I have reviewed the edit request, and most information is now quite outdated, and some seems quite promotional, so I'll have to decline this request. Regards, VB00 (talk) 05:16, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
