In defense of recent edits - Please spare me the revert war - Resist the temptation[edit]

Yes I am trimming out the laundry list of items which are subsumed under the generic heading which I left in place.

Note that I added a genera which was totally ommitted and is at least equally common in usage.

I did not list tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, civil unrest so there is not reason to list rape, spouse abuse, elder abuse.

Both classes are covered under abuse and disaster genera, which I left intact.

This is just logical thinking Thank you for discussion prior to any revert. Brothercanyouspareadime (talk) 20:57, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merge?[edit]

Articles Refugee shelter and Transitional shelter are very similar to this, probably too similar to exist in their own right. Potential for a merge?Michtrich (talk) 15:42, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Advertising?[edit]

The section https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency_shelter#Sustainable_design feels a lot like advertising for the book "Urgent Architecture: 40 Sustainable Housing Solutions for a Changing World," by Meinhold, Bridgette (2013). Arguably, it adds little to the concept of emergency shelter, except to implicitly advocate for permanent shelter which has a putatively lower negative environmental effect. An argument could be presented that emergency sheltering oft transforms into semi-permanent settlements, or that it oft results in large amounts of waste from dismantlement of the shelter, but the section does not present those arguments. 15:30, 5 May 2021 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Debrown (talkcontribs)
