This is an attempt to show how the St Ives end of the line relates to the current network. Anyone think it worth putting into the article? Thoughts? Britmax (talk) 09:57, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cost of fare and image[edit]

I am the significant editor of Little Thetford. The Little Thetford#Transport section has a little on this line and a wikimedia commons image of Stretham railways station. Basically, the return fare from Ely to Sutton was 2s 0d in 1866 which is 59.60 pounds sterling at 2008 prices. This may be why the line was not popular and why it closed to passengers (except for excursions) in 1931. Only issue is, the source is obscure. I paid my 10p for a photocopy of the part of the reference book I used and forgot to jot down the citation details :( I need a trip to the library to cite the source which I will do in a week or so. --Senra (talk) 17:00, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wow! Dug through my notes and found the ref. Oppitz, Leslie (1989). Easr Anglia railways remembered. Countryside Books, Newbury, Berkshire. pp. 58–59. ISBN 1853060402. --Senra (talk) 17:18, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
