I thought his article was well-written and had a diverse variety of different categories and topics. I went through and reworded a few sentences to help with sentence flow. There were a few grammar errors but not many. I also added two more pictures that were spaced out throughout the article in order to engage readers and brighten up the page. I decided to change the “Adult Sociality” section and retitled it “Seasonal Effects”; I think this helps describe the section details more precisely. I also removed the “Gut” section of the microbiome section and added it to the existing section above. Since the section before was already discussing the gut microbiome, it makes the most sense to group this information together. There were spots where I added more Wikipedia links to help with unfamiliar words such as: overwintering, fecundity, somatic maintenance, copulation, symbiotic, etc. I liked that the article detailed how these beetles further relate to humans and how they may affect us in the maple syrup business. I really enjoyed this article and felt that it was wonderfully detailed and polished, I found myself becoming more interested in this beetle the further I read into the article. There were a few minor changes that I thought would elevate the article if changed, so I went ahead and rearranged certain subheadings to improve readability and flow. I also went ahead and deleted a redundant light production category that I felt was touched on earlier in the article. I also moved range and habitat further up the article because I felt that that information should be foremost before any in-depth behavioral information should be discussed. I also reworded the "not in the gut" sub category to non-gastrointestinal just to polish it further. Overall, I thought you did an amazing job and were excellent at writing an article suited for the wikipedia medium. The language was accessible and mechanisms and phenomena were well explained. This article was very well-written! It was very concise, clear, and had a lot of fascinating information! In the Eggs, Larvae, and Pupae section, which is under Life Cycle section, I removed the image of the winter firefly, because there is another image of the winter firefly in the taxobox. By removing a redundant image of the winter firefly, I reduced repetition and improved visual flow, ensuring that each image serves a distinct purpose. In the mating section, I added an image of winter fireflies mating and a caption to allow the readers to better understand the mating process of winter fireflies. Adding an image of winter fireflies mating provides visual context and enhances reader’s understanding of the mating process. The accompanying caption clarifies the significance of the image, which enriches the reader's experience. In the Seasonal Effects subsection, which is under the Life Cycle section, “28 September – 7 March” is changed to “September 28 – March 7” and “18 March” is changed to “March 18,” because this change follows the conventional date format, improving readability and consistency. In the Protective Behavior section, which is under the Predation and Parasitism section, I added a moving image of fireflies flickering their lights to show them attracting mates, which allows the readers to visualize these beetle’s mating tactics. In the Interaction with Humans section, I added an image caption to an image that shows the winter firefly on top of a human hand to further illustrate the purpose of this image. Great job!
