Extradition start date

In the article the beginnings of extraditions are cited as summer 1940. This cannot be relevant to Einsatzcommando Finnland, as first German forces arrived to Finland at September 21, 1940. Tarkka doesn't even mention the Einsatzkommando in his review, which suggests that EK Finnland may not have been as important an organization as has been rumored based on Silvennoinen's thesis abstract. The executions were probably carried out by regular German units. This article may have to be renamed or merged with some other after we get more information on Silvennoinen's research.--Victor Chmara (talk) 13:39, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Background

I don't see the relevance of the background section at all, it does not mention the Einsatzkommando Finnland a single time, and appears to be discussing a completely unrelated event. If this is relevant to the article then this needs ot be made more obvious. Alun (talk) 20:18, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Notability

Seriously, a single PhD thesis is not sufficient to establish encyclopaedic notability. Possibly this is notable on fi.wikipedia, but I don't see it's notability established here. Indeed much of the article seems to be discussing a completely different subject matter. Just how is the prisoner exchange between the Nazis and the Finnish government relevant to the existence of the Einsatzkommando Finnland? It's not at all clear to me. Please establish the notability of this article. We need multiple reliable secondary and tertiary sources to establish this. Sources should be in English as much as possible. Agreed. I would not have created this article before there was more information on Silvennoinen's research. Now it seems that Silvennoinen or his publisher somewhat oversold his thesis in advance. For one thing, there was no such unit as Einsatzkommando Finnland, but rather Einsatzkommando der Sicherheitspolizei und des SD beim AOK Norwegen, Befehlsstelle Finnland was sometimes unofficially called EK Finnland and other names. The EK Finnland stuff comprises just one short chapter in Silvennoinen's book, and its nature and actions remain unclear. The material in this article should be incorporated in other articles such as Continuation War and Jews in Finland.--Victor Chmara (talk) 03:47, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

I absolutely agree. I don't necessarily think the information should be lost completely from en.wikipedia, but I'm about as sure as I can be that this should not be a stand alone article. I suggest that we move the relevant information to the articles you suggest and then redirect this article to Continuation War, for example. This amounts to a "soft" delete and only requires a consensus on the talk page. Let's leave it a week or so, and if there is no objection we'll just go ahead and do it.
