"Seduced" by Millais[edit]

I've removed the claim that Millais seduced her, which historically untrue, but of course I don't know what the film actually depicts (a bit of sex is usually required these days). However it was sourced to this plot summary:

Ruskin's sexual dysfunction and his wife's sexual innocence and inexperience in the repressed atmosphere of Victorian England are further complicated by Effie's affair with pre-Raphaelite painter Sir John Everett Millais after Effie poses for the artist and falls in love with him. Author and art historian Lady Elizabeth Eastlake, Effie's friend and champion, encourages her to seek an annulment from her husband. In order to prove non-consummation of the marriage, Effie is forced to undergo a physical examination that confirms her virginity after five years of marriage to Ruskin.

It says she had an "affair" with Millais, but then says she was proven to be a virgin (which is historically accurate), so clearly whatever is meant by "affair", either they didn't have sex or she somehow bribed or cajolled the examining physician to say she was a virgin! We will have to wait for the film to see how they "play" these events. At the moment we can stick with 'falls in love with', which is what the source says.
