Dates of the school year

Greetings all. The page Academic term lists countries by the date/extent of the school year. North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania are almost exclusively represented on the list. This country has not yet been added onto the page. Would anyone be able to pop over, and give it a quick edit? Thanks, samwaltz 22:31, 16 August 2007 (UTC) sxj

Academic year for class 1 to 10 starts and ends in mid April(14/15). And academic year of high school is August 1st to last August. Academic year of higher education varies but engineering starts in about last of November(26/27) Shankar.neupane.33 (talk) 10:31, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

And academic year of bsc nurshing and other courses also start around last week of November or 1st week of December. Shankar.neupane.33 (talk) 10:33, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

Girls have less possibilities in school than boys...

This comment in the 'Structure' section had been added to the article in the 20:38, 7 January 2008 edit by 71.255.179.218. This may or may not be true, but there is no claim of verifiability made, so I've removed it. Girls have less possibly in school especially in rural areas due to gender discrimination, poverty and child marriage. Shankar.neupane.33 (talk) 10:48, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

Language of instruction

Does anyone have a good reference for the language of instruction in Nepal? My guess is that they speak Nepali in primary-secondary and possibly English for accredited tertiary programs, but I'm having trouble finding information about this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.200.180.171 (talk) 17:12, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

In government schools(government schools use Nepali language books) and some private schools language of instruction is Nepali. In some private(almost all private schools use unglish language books some offering nepali medium too)schools language of instruction is english up to SLC. In higher education English language is used except for some faculties(humanity, arts). Shankar.neupane.33 (talk) 10:23, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

Reconstruction of the article

Hi. I have made some significant edits on the content of this article. Here is a short abstract of what I have been doing and why:

  • Rewriting the Lead: It was a copy/past of this page. The source I have been using looks a bit more reliable.
  • adding basic information on vocational education, based on a UNESCO-UNEVOC report. Vocational education is a rising challenge and it was sad not to have a sentence about it.
  • "Cleaning up" the external link section. I have tried to follow WP:EXT, especially regarding "official websites". I have deleted dead links, blatant publicity, charitable organization. I have spared a link to the world database (not a real "external link" but an interesting reliable source) and one leading a blog: The latter is definitely oriented, but it also looks documented, and gives a rare insight on the Nepalese examination system. I have added two reliable reports from UNESCO that contains info but also useful diagrams on the education system of Nepal.
  • Deletion of the lists and creation of a "tertiary education" section: All those lists were confusing. There are better in the dedicated article List of Universities in Nepal. the "Tertiary education" section brings no new content. It is only a collection of the texts formerly used as introduction to the lists.
  • Deletion of the ranking and the scholarship sections. The Ranking section was coming from an unofficial and unreliable source (no further information on those "polls", no dates...). The scholarship section was just not relevant regarding WP:NOTGUIDE (and was also unsourced)

I have almost not added/checked the content. If someone wants to improve this article, I think he/she should check the origin of the texts (which I suspect to be, like the former lead, copy/past from other websites) and bring new sources. I'm willing to help a bit whoever is motivated to start the job. Regards, KaptainIgloo (talk) 09:57, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

For Information about ranking and scholarship in engineering Google pulchowk engineering campus, thapathali engineering campus, western region campus and dharan engineering campus. Other scholarships are offered by tribhuwan university affiliated private engineering colleges (kathmandu engineering college, kantipur engineering college, khowpo college of engineering, himalaya engineering college. Above mentioned are tribhuwan university colleges. Kathmandu university, Pokhara university and purbanchal university also offer scholarships. Maybe you can create a topic on scholarship now Shankar.neupane.33 (talk) 11:02, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

Human capital flight in Nepal

Every year many students go to India to study engineering(my many friends and some seniors) bsc nurshing(my many seniors) Japan(my friend). But I can't give you citation because only Wikipedia and twitter are free in Nepal. See Ncell (Other business initiatives). Can you help me with citation. Shankar.neupane.33 (talk) 12:04, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

They also go to many other nations like US,Australia,UK,Switzerland and other nation for foreign study. So every country cannot be added. AmRit GhiMire "Ranjit" 01:10, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

Given that this article goes back to 2007 and the youtube video is dated at 2015 I don't believe that this article is taking from the youtube video. Also it the article's current form it doesn't have the same content that was in the video, unless that was removed prior. Therefore, I don't think this violates copyright laws, but I am new to this and could be wrong. Robban33 (talk) 20:42, 30 March 2017 (UTC) robban33

Copyright violation

This article seems to share about 90% of its text with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gQ2faYSH0A. I assume that they have copied from us rather than the other way round. But, If not, then the article will probably need to be reduced to a stub to remove all the common material. --DanielRigal (talk) 22:35, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
