I'm confused. Is Edifier really an American company? I can't find any mention of that on their website. However, it does say that they are "one of China’s first specialized manufacturers producing genuine wood enclosure speaker systems", suggesting that they are Chinese, though it also says that they are based in Vancouver, Canada. How does it fail to meet Notability?[edit]

What person put in the tag 3 years ago for not meeting notability? How is it not meeting notability for Wikipedia? It is a public company that is currently worth 3 billion dollars AUD or 15.27 billion CNY Market capitalisation in 2023, (Which is huge). And was reported by Forbes to have a new patented technology called Wide-Band Multi-Channel Active Noise Cancellation on its gear, with a depth of -50dB across a 5kHz bandwidth.[1] Which if you don't know what that means, is a tremendous achievement surpassing most technology of other headphone offering nowadays. As well as being consistently mentioned by NYT for having the best computer speakers. [2] I am very curious on the reasoning here? The tag seems to be put by somebody who either doesn't understand the technology brands, or is not here to build an encyclopaedia and haven't done any minimum research on the topic. Regardless that person needs to discuss it here as the tag is ridiculous, and should be removed given a billion dollar company meets more notability than most companies listed on Wikipedia.49.180.193.122 (talk) 16:01, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also my argument that it meets notability is that Google search and Reuters says it's currently worth 15.27 billion CNY or over 2 billion dollars USD in Market capitalisation.[3] Should automatically makes it notable for Wikipedia given its sheer market cap size. Also it sells well globally because they are decent enough and is a three-time winner of the iF Product Design Award, a world-renowned design prize.[4]. 49.180.193.122 (talk) 16:31, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@49.180.193.122 Yeah I agree with you. I am not sure why the template is there because the company is clearly mentioned by many independent sources. People know about Edifier and it's been around for a while. TheWikiCyclone (talk) 04:03, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stax "Earspeakers"[edit]

I get that certain fans call Stax headphones as "Earspeakers" but that's not a proper English word found in a dictionary.[5] It's a headphone and so I changed the word to call Stax as a "headphone" company instead of "earspeaker" company as it's WP:MOS to use the proper English word, and not some unofficial fandom slang that most people never use such a word.[6] I thought that I should mention this here if someone wants to address the changes I made and explain if they disagree. 49.180.193.122 (talk) 16:42, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
