Dubious tag[edit]

The Alaska Personnel Board is an independent agency. It doesn't report to the governor; and all three of its members were appointed to their unpaid positions by Frank Murkowski.

You also left out the part where the Democratic attorney hired by the Personnel Board to act as an investigator cleared Palin of wrongdoing. THF (talk) 09:52, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

According to other reports, although all three members were initially appointed by her predecessor, Palin re-appointed English in 2008. [1] But in any case, I hope a link to the Troopergate article will send interested readers to someplace they can read all the ins and outs of that investigation. Any reason the section title is different than the neutral article title? ;) (Also a problem in the lede.)

It's best if I just withdraw from commentary on this article, because I'm sure I'll go ballistic if I click on the link and see how inaccurate the Monegan article is. But pretend that I'm watching, imagine the complaints I might make, and I'm sure the article will be the better for it. THF (talk) 15:40, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Most news stories of the time called it "Troopergate" -- it wasn't intended to be non-neutral, but I'll try to improve it. Your suggestions are helpful, so thank you. The trouble with somebody who has a POV trying to write NPOV articles is that it's hard to recognize your own POV as non-neutral -- that's why it is important that people with differing POVs collaborate on articles.
