Ecodesign merge[edit]

There are several similar articles, and hence it has been difficult to get a consensus on any particular action, as the pages overlap greatly. I'm therefore proposing, as a new starting point, the merge of Ecological design and Ecodesign, given their heavily overlapping scope. Perhaps to Ecological design as it is more clearly linked in the series of related articles like Sustainable design and Environmental design. Klbrain (talk) 14:16, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's going to be challenging to figure out where the lines are between any of those topics. The ecodesign article, for example, cites an article on sustainable design. So I'd say probably yes, in principle. But the specifics are going to be challenging. Guettarda (talk) 14:35, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it makes sense to merge these two article Ecodesign and Ecological design. The two terms are used interchangibly. Netherzone (talk) 21:14, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Overview section necessary?[edit]

Why does this article have an overview section following the introduction? I am not sure of its purpose--it is confusingly written (and formatted) and poorly cited. I would suggest it be deleted and any relevant information moved to other sections. AttemptedEdit (talk) 22:50, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I would argue the whole article needs a rewrite to clarify what ecological design actually is. The intro suggests ecological design is defined by its approach but most of the article seems to confine it to specific outputs (off-grid homes, etc). More discussion of the theory and methods of ecological design, along with examples that explore the application of those theories, would give this article more depth if the intro's conception is correct. The sustainable design page does a good job of this. This article should also make the differences between the two concepts, if any, clear. AttemptedEdit (talk) 23:20, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
