Untitled[edit]

"Howard read widely, including Edward Bellamy's 1900 utopian novel Looking Backward and thought deeply about social issues.

One result was his book (1898) titled To-Morrow: A Peaceful Path to Real Reform"

How can a result of reading a book published in 1900 be his own book published in 1898?

  • That is because the date of Looking Backward's publication date is wrong, according to another Wikipedia article. It is just sloppy and a coordination issue.Gary Joseph 00:12, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are a number of other cities founded according to the rules created by Ebenezer Howard, such us Podkowa Lesna in Poland.

I dispute the current wording that Howard called for "new suburban towns of limited size" - the point of Garden Cities were that they were small _cities_, very different from our modern conception of suburbs - "residential areas on the outskirts of a city or large town." as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suburb says. If no one objects I would like to have a go at rewording this more succinctly (I am an Urban Planning postgrad student, doing a paper on Garden Cities currently). -- Patrick Sunter, 20 April 2008.

No objection. He set a target of around 30,000, did he not?Verne Equinox (talk) 03:30, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently he was a shorthand-writer for Hansard — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.117.35.236 (talk) 15:42, 28 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
