Comments[edit]

Lead

  • Watch for MOS:CAPS in the infobox
  • Hubs do not need to be listed in the infobox
  • "Mass transportation" is not a common American English phrase; I suggest using public transit or mass transit instead.
  • "Comprised of" should be replaced; see these links for the reason why.

History

  • The opening words are filler and should be replaced, e.g. "The earliest transit srevice in the city".
  • "As well as the first in the country to heat trolley cars using electricity..." is a fragment that can be merged.
  • Opening sentence of the second paragraph is very choppy.
  • Citation 6 does not support anything specific to Eau Claire other than the city railway's establishment date of 1889, which is not even used in the article.
  • "the city sold the network to an area investor and was operated as" implies the city was operated under the new name.
  • What happened under the Eau Claire Transportation Company? The section only has one sentence covering the decades between the 1930s and mid-1970s.
  • Is there a better establishment date for Eau Clair Transit?
  • Beyond the transit center, what else has happened to the agency since the 1970s?

Routes

  • The description of general route characteristics should come before the transit center.
  • This entire section is cited to the route information book, which does not explicitly describe the service patterns. This feel like quite a bit of original research and should be removed.
  • The core routes table should be removed per WP:NOTGUIDE.
  • The UW routes can be listed as prose instead of a bullet-point list; much of the information can be consolidated into one paragraph.
  • The express routes can be described without a list.

Eau Claire Transit Center

  • "grant for the project" should be "grant to construct a replacement" or something similar that provides context to the sentence.
  • "The new transit center began construction" should be reordered so that it doesn't imply that the transit center constructed itself.
  • "temporary" should not be in quotations; I think it would be best to just remove this use entirely.
  • "In order to provide a transfer facility during construction" can be dropped as well.
  • "summer 2024" should be avoided per MOS:SEASON.
  • "As well as first floor retail space, two stories of parking above, and three stories of housing on top." is another fragment.
  • "meaning the rent will be considered affordable for those making between 80% - 120% of the median income in the county" can be shortened to "with rents considered affordable for households with 80 to 120 percent of the county's median income".
  • The developer names don't really need to be mentioned, just their general descriptions will suffice.
  • "will be complete" should be "scheduled to be completed"
  • "must contribute" should be "is expected to contribute"
  • "value of the project" should be "cost of the project"

Ridership

  • Some prose is needed here, especially to put some numbers into context. Where does Eau Claire rank among Wisconsin systems?

Missing sections

  • Some basic fare information, such as payment methods and reduced fare groups, should be mentioned.
  • The lead mentions that the agency has 22 low-floored buses, but there is no fleet information at all in the body.
  • No paratransit services are mentioned in the body. Are there other services (such as vanpools) offered?
  • Information on the ownership, administration, operating base(s), budget, funding sources, employment numbers, and

Images

  • The bus image barely shows the bus and needs to be cropped or replaced.

Citations and sources

  • Citations that use a simple URL as their publisher need to be fixed.
  • The Historical Society should not be listed just as a website, but as the publisher.
  • Student-Transit seems to be a company website using a generic history blurb; try to find the actual source.
  • VoiceMap doesn't seem like a reliable source given their opaque editorial standards; it seems most entries are user-generated, which violates WP:SOCIALMEDIA.
  • Citations 21 through 30 need publisher, date, and access-date information.

Frankly, I don't think article is ready to be a GA, especially with the amount of basic information that is missing. I will put this on hold for a week and if no major progress is made, the nomination will be closed. SounderBruce 07:31, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
