Who was the 1st Duke?[edit]

The 4th Earl (Henry of Grosmont) and the 5th Earl (John of Gaunt) both say 1st Duke. Surely shome mishtake! Paul Magnussen (talk) 00:44, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Actually no, I initially thought the same but it is correct as there were identically named dukedoms created twice. I've simply added a note. 92.27.59.217 (talk) 14:04, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
