Eagles (disambiguation)Eagles – No primary topic. Page views favor Eagles (band) over Eagle by a factor of 3, and there are also various sports teams to consider. User:力 (powera, π, ν) 02:01, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: A relevant RfD has yet to be closed that seems to be related to this, although not purely the same. snood1205(Say Hi! (talk)) 02:54, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose - as an obvious WP:PLURALPT of a common word (and the namesake of all the related topics). -- Netoholic @ 10:23, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nominator. JIP | Talk 23:38, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. Nobody is likely wanting the Eagle article when entering the plural. The cited section WP:PLURALPT notes: "It may also be the case that a singular form (Axe) has a primary topic, while a plural form (Axes, which is the plural of both Axe and Axis) does not." Dicklyon (talk) 08:31, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well with Axes is the plural of 2 nouns while this is just 1, its not a plural of a different thing as well. Crouch, Swale (talk) 11:35, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - As Dicklyon mentioned, someone who enters the plural form is unlikely to be seeking the bird. ModernDayTrilobite (talk) 15:40, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. All derivations, singular or plural, are transparently derived from the bird. In the long term, the bird is more likely to continue to exist and be remembered as anything named for it. BD2412 T 19:40, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nominator and what User:Dicklyon said above. Paintspot Infez (talk) 23:08, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per ATONISH. cookie monster 755 23:46, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. I'm an Eagles the group fan, but this makes no sense to me. Animals are often thought of in the plural ("When did the dinosaurs become extinct?" "Why do earthworms come to the surface after a rain?" "How large do eagles get?"). Eagles the birds have been known the world over and have a cultural significance that is wider and longer lasting than that of Henley and Frey. @Iffy: Could you explain the "no consensus" close? If there is no consensus after running for one week, wouldn't it make more sense to relist? Lennart97 (talk) 16:25, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Relisting isn't appropriate here as there's been plenty of discussion and I can clearly see the main arguments for and against the move in the above discussion. IffyChat -- 17:04, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
