There is no mention of Durwin's second book on the page. Could someone begin a list of all of his publications including both books, all the comic book covers, academic journals, awards and honors? They are mentioned in the article but should be expanded. Also, a picture or two of his work would be appropriate on this page. Cheers. So thoughts on moving things forward? I'd like to extract information from the interviews and introduce more detail into the entry. I'd also like to get a picture in and I might as well drop an infobox in where it can slot in. I think the next push would be on the entries for his books and comics (as they come out) and to make sure infomration is found (again probably from interviews) to help flesh them out and round them out. I concur with getting his picture. The easiest would be his professorial mug shot, but I'm not too clear on the rights issues regarding imagery (Panel Discussions' was a quick research into how other book covers were handled). The infobox was a good and obvious call; good on ya. You're involved (it appears) in the comics project so probably have a better handle on the trade resources to track his work. I've been considering contacting him to get a detailed list of published works that I could then seek out myself (to avoid the original research policy issue), but -strangely enough- I don't have access to good voice comms for the next several weeks (and would prefer to do the contact that way). Contacting him is a good idea - I have worked with a few people who popped up here as they are the experts on themselves and going through another editor avoids WP:COI issues. Perhaps the best move would be just to email him and if he dropped in here he could clarify points, add information (like birthdate) and see if he has published any shorter articles. Pictures are tricky as it is usually always possible to get a free to use alternative from living people - perhaps he could release on under an open license that we can use. As you say it is probably best to work on the other entries for his work - there should be reviews around and we are lucky he has a distinctive name ;) I keep an eye on the main comics sites so if anything useful pops up I can drop it in. I'd consider doing that, but 'out here' I only have my official e-mail and I won't use it for that. Once I do get back, however, I'll do as you suggest and contact him by a personal e-mail. Contacting him for his own picture sounds like the right idea; I'd think if I got that, I'd be able to justify its upload with such a statement. As for his input, isn't he rather limited in his role. I'd think he can only nix false statements and not really provide us with clarifying information, unless he's got a verifiable source (ex: exact date of his birthdate or marriage, unless he can point to a newspaper announcement we can reference). That is about it yes. If he releases the picture we can upload it for him. He can provide a birth date and also point out any gaps we might have (despte being easy to Google it might be we still need a few pointers to look in the right direction). As a lot of people drop by anyway if you are contacting him you might as well extend the invitation. I suspect we have most of the main information bolted down but we might be missing some things (I have done a search on Google Scholar for papers but didn't turn much up - mainly a citation of his Panel Discussions book) and when I've spoken to people they can always find something that has been overlooked. Last night I spoke with some classmates in Talon's department, and apparently he'll be leaving IUPUI before the beginning of the fall semester. There has been no announcement or confirmation, (and I felt a little too weird to confront him about it), although I did overhear him mention something about "leaving on a good note".
If this IS true, then I'm kind of angry, since I'm supposed to be in two of his classes this Fall. Classes start in 5 days, and if he's not there, I'll be sure to post an update here. :(

Well, he definitely left. I haven't heard where he went (yet), but he's gone. There were a large number of changes in the department over the summer, in personnel, curriculum, and program "mission", but, in my mind, this may have been the most significant change. From what I've heard Durwin had a difference in opinion of what direction the program should be going: he felt the "artistic" side was being neglected in favor of the technical. Or so the rumor goes. The faculty members that I've heard from so far have been rather tight-lipped about the whole thing, but I suspect the whole story will trickle down to us lowly students over the next week or so. Durwin is now teaching at SCAD- you can find his email on the SCAD illustration website if anyone is still interested in contacting him. Facebook is also a good way to get ahold of him. I have updated a few things here, since some big things in his life have changed. He is no longer married and I added that he is teaching at SCAD. In fact, I can probably get a photo the easiest of everyone, since I'm living with him! Sorry, I forgot a little bit about the photo. I will work on getting that uploaded. I see that the information was edited about Bonds. There *will* be a third issue, the artwork and writing is finished, it is currently in post-production (by me!) and it should be out in July.
