Almonds[edit]

It would be good if information from websites such as this one could be added to the article, because, at present, the article lacks much content - alas, I am not an expert on the Dundee Cake, so I do not really have enough information at hand to take the article beyond stub status. Source for the section on the cake's history[edit]

Before any one claims that the assertion I just entered about the cake been originally produced by the marmalade company called Keillers is unsourced, I shall let people know where I found that claim:

Well, this source:

says that the cake was actually made in Scotland for centuries, but just says that it was Keiller's who first made it commercially available (I think that this website is also claiming that they were the first people to call the cake "Dundee Cake"). photo[edit]

This article is still in need of a decent photo. I deleted the previous flickr-sourced one which wasn't of Dundee cake at all (just a cake someone ate in Dundee!) but now we have another seemingly auto-sourced flickr image which although it is indeed a Dundee cake you'd hardly know it as it's been turned into a birthday cake and drowned in icing, rendering the all-important almonds almost invisible. Inconsistency in timing? Maybe?[edit]

A reader (ticket:2016121710013394) observed that the second paragraph mentions an origin and "19th-century Scotland", but then goes on to recount a story about Mary Queen of Scots who lived in the 16th century. It may be that the second reference is about a predecessor cake but the wording refers to "the cake" so if it is not referring to Dundee cake it needs rewording. I see a reference at the end of that sentence but it appears to be a dead link; I don't know whether the information at that source would shed any light.--S Philbrick(Talk) 22:59, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
