Donald McKay[edit]

See page revision history. I made this entry and linked to Modoc War article where there is an image of Capt McKay. Donald McKay (1836-1899) Captain, U.S. Army Warm Springs Scouts. My original entry was reverted by User:Boleyn. Hope I fixed this OK, per MOS:DABRL. All My Relations Tjlynnjr (talk) 18:09, 28 August 2014 (UTC) .[reply]

Hello, @Tjlynnjr:, thanks for your work on this. At the moment, the piping is misleading and might confuse a reader, who is expecting to link to an article on Donald C. Mackay. His name is added in the caption of a picture - he is one of the scouts pictured - but I don't think this could count as a mention within the article, no reader would learn anything about him by being sent to Modoc War. If it did meet MOS:DABMENTION, then it would be formatted as, *George C. Mackay, ...[in Modoc War, so it's clear where the reader is being directed. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 18:18, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Boleyn: Thanks for your help. I hope to create articles on these men, I am awaiting info from Warm Springs. I will tighten this up. Donald "C" McKay (no middle initial "C" known), is an error I will fix now. The other entry I made for William Cameron McKay (his half brother who had the middle initial "C") is also mentioned in the text of Modoc War.I will fix that too. I understand "in" Modoc War is the fix, OK ?. All My Relations Tjlynnjr (talk) 18:48, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
