Nationality[edit]

What possible reason is there to refer to Hewitt as "Jewish-American"? --Wikismile 21:58, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Death[edit]

The CBS News website has posted a breaking news item just saying "Television pioneer and '60 Minutes' creator Don Hewitt has died." Details should be along in a few minutes. Someone has already noted the death date in the lede of the Wikipedia article. Edison (talk) 15:29, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing on Google News yet. Edison (talk) 15:30, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
CBS radio in Chicago[1] at 10:35 Central Time and CBS TV in Denver [2] as of 9:26am Mountain Time confirm the death, but not the statement that he died in his home, presently in the Wikipedia article. Edison (talk) 15:39, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sources now referenced to verify death at his home from pancreatic cancer. Edison (talk) 16:32, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Since nobody had added Hewitt to the Deaths in 2009 list, I took the liberty of doing so. Do we need a recent death tag at the top of the article and a link to the 2009 deaths category? DQweny (talk) 16:14, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Don Hewitt Named in Harassment Allegations in the New York Times[edit]

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/06/business/media/60-minutes-jeff-fager-don-hewitt.html

Apparently in a 2018 New York times article Don Hewitt is named in a Sexual Harassment allegation over how CBS handled harassment issues. Also its being used as a lead in to how Jeff Fager got accused of harassment. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:640:C600:8270:C484:D94D:4644:4ABD (talk) 19:48, 7 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
