Corrections[edit]

As a representative of Dominion Resources, I'd like to request that some information be corrected on this page. Specifically some information appearing in the box on the right-hand side of the page.

First, William Berry is not the founder of Dominion Resources. He was president of the company in 1980 when Dominion redefined its corporate identity and image. This information is available in Dominion's history on our Web site. No single individual is credited as the founder of Dominion Resources.

Second, Mark McGettrick is incorrectly listed as COO. Our Annual Report and 10-K filed with the Securities Exchange Commission for 2007 show that his correct title is Executive Vice President. - DomRes 16 October 2008 —Preceding undated comment was added at 15:17, 16 October 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Brand new effort[edit]

Starting today I will be working to improve this article; Dominion Resources is a client of my employer, so I have a potential conflict of interest, and I pledge that all of my contributions will satisfy WP:VERIFY WP:RS, WP:NPOV and the rest. All of my direct edits should be uncontroversial, but if I believe an edit could be the subject of reasonable debate, I will seek comment here and/or the Help desk. On another note, I had no relationship to Dominion last year when DomRes was involved with this page; I am familiar with what happened then, but my involvement represents a brand new effort. Please feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions about my editing activity. Thanks, NMS Bill (talk) 14:30, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Support

  • Support as Proposer The Dominion Virginia Power article is poorly written and has many NPOV problems as well. All of the other subdivisions of the company have been moved into a single article, so I see no reason that Dominion Virginia Power should not get moved into this article. --Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 19:14, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Seems like a sound idea to me. However, considering the state of affairs at Dominion Virginia Power's article, one could possibly get away with just simply redirecting it straight over to Dominion Resources. SchuminWeb (Talk) 20:41, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comment

  • It's been a week and a half, and no one's commented except the nominator and me, both in support. Merge away... SchuminWeb (Talk) 19:41, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • I did the merge (per your suggestion to redirect), but I have copied the controversies to my sandbox where I will work to remove the Weasel and NPOV problems and will then paste it back into the article. I will see how soon I can get it done, for my Non-Wikipedia life is busy. --Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 21:46, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Additions[edit]

Should there not be a list, or link to a list, of the power plants Dominion owns? I had to search backwards on Google to find some them. Of course nuclear stations are in the media a lot now with the Fukushima incident, but I think it's valid. Here are two, but I'm not looking to limit the additions to nuclear plants. I think it would be useful to have all available. North Anna Nuclear Generating Station and Surry Nuclear Power Plant. MartinezMD (talk) 01:33, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality Issues[edit]

Most of this article is heavily slanted towards points of view expressed in Dominion websites and public relations documents (e.g., see footnoting). The Political and Charitable Contributions section needs significant improvement. Although the Controversies section is a good attempt at balance, an encyclopedic article should not rely so heavily on the opinions of Dominion personnel. 129.81.143.192 (talk) 03:29, 9 July 2012 (UTC)7/8/2012[reply]

More than half the topic is devoted to "controversies" which rely upon sources other than Dominion. A casual observer is likely to conclude the opposite of your assertion TEDickey (talk) 09:37, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

East Ohio Gas Company[edit]

East Ohio Gas redirects here. Anybody knows why?, as there is no "East Ohio" to be found in this article. —Jerome Potts (talk) 22:07, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Corrections to Dominion Energy Knowledge Graph/Wiki Info[edit]

Please update the name to read just "Dominion Energy". The WIKI panel name is CURRENTLY (WRONGLY) showing "Dominion Virginia Power".

I work for the SEO firm that manages Dominion's web content. Dominion has requested this change as the legal name is not correct.

Thank you.

James W. Robbins jrobbins@list-right.com Noelsnibbor (talk) 14:11, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done @Noelsnibbor: the information panel which labels the company you represent as "Dominion Virginia Power" is a Google infobox which shows results based on their search engine, for which Wikipedia has no control over. As such, there's no edit possible on this page which would change that infobox. Seloloving (talk) 08:53, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't even see what you are talking about. Can someone clarify where in the article this refers to? MartinezMD (talk) 16:04, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@MartinezMD: Google Dominion Energy and you will see it. Seloloving (talk) 17:35, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. That's obviously a Google issue. he should call them. MartinezMD (talk) 18:09, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Corrections to Dominion Energy Knowledge Graph/Wiki Info[edit]

The following is a link to the Knowledge panel sourced from WIKI:

https://www.google.com/search?gs_ssp=eJzj4tLP1TcoN6mILzZWYDRgdGDwkkvJz83My8zPU0jNSy1Kr1Qozi8tyVBITizKz8nMSwQAY5EP9Q&q=dominion+energy+south+carolina&rlz=1C1RLNS_enUS895US895&oq=dom&aqs=chrome.1.69i60j46j69i59j69i65l3j69i61l2.1845j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

The name on the panel is incorrect as "SCE&G". The CORRECT name of the company is "Dominion Energy".

Please make this change.

Thank you.

Hi Noelsnibbor. The issue here is the same as your request, above, from September 9th. Wikipedia doesn't have any control over the contents of Google's Knowledge Panel. Sometimes Google's algorithms go on the fritz, as appears to be the case here. Wikipedia's article about Dominion Energy doesn't even mention the abbreviation SCE&G. From the link you posted, you could try clicking on the "Feedback" link below the knowledge panel to suggest corrections yourself, or you could click the "Claim this knowledge panel" button to contact Google about its contents.
